JAMES BARR AND MINNIE JOHANNA SCHIEBERL-BARR FAMILY
James Barr was born to John E. Barr and Bettie Maupin Sims-Barr September 1892 in Shackelford, Missouri, the second-oldest of eleven children. It was the year Thomas Edison would receive a patent for a two-way telegraph. The month after James Barr was born, "The Dalton Gang", while attempting to rob two banks in nearby Coffeyville, Kansas, was shot by the townspeople. Only Emmett Dalton, with 23 wounds, survives, to spend 14 years in prison. Minnie Schieberl-Barr would meet James and the two would marry circa 1920. Minnie Johanna Schieberl, pictured above at her 1919 high school graduation at Notre Dame de Sion, was also was born into a large family. She had one brother Sylvester Schieberl who married Hazel Steinmetz, and two sisters Angeline and Vergie. Vergie married Henry Ludwig, and the two would have a son Carl Ludwig.
