MARY ALICE BARR-NICHOLSON FAMILY

Mary Alice's Barr Lineage: Robert-John-Thomas

James Justin Nicholson was born in 1938. The New York Stock Exchange unveiled a fifteen-point program aimed to upgrade protection for the investing public in an effort to try restore investor confidence during the Great Depression that month. James is here to help.

Mary Alice Barr-Nicholson was born to Missouri farmers Robert Lee Barr Sr, and Frances Amelia Weis-Barr in 1939 Sweet Springs, Missouri. John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath is first published. She is the youngest of seven children, with five brothers and one sister.

James and Mary Alice married 6/30/1962. He quips that when he asked her father for her hand in marriage, he was told "OK, but only if you're a Democrat!" James enjoyed a career with one of Kansas City's largest developers, and Mary Alice completed a doctorate and is a professional psychologist. The two raised three daughters in the Kansas City area.
