Patrick Barr was born in 1970 Shackelford, MO, to Delbert Barr and Donna Smith-Barr. This was the year the Kansas City Chiefs beat the heavily favored Minnesota Vikings 23–7 in Super Bowl IV, and the year the Concorde made its first supersonic flight.

Patrick married Lori Ann Stone, and the two had three children.
