WILLIAM CROMPTON AND
BETTY GIBSON-CROMPTON FAMILY
William Crompton was born December 30th, 1764 in Deane by Bolton, Lancashire, England, to John Crompton, Jr. and Alice Hardman. We surmise that he probably had several brothers and sisters, for we learned in 2009 from Ian Stone (15th-generation Crompton), that William has an older brother James who was born in 1752, twelve years earlier.
Betty Gibson-Crompton was born circa 1785 in Middle Hulton, Lancashire, England. George III was Monarch of the United Kingdom at the time.
